Eddy Kalisa Nyarwaya, Co-Founder
Eddy Kalisa Nyarwaya is a multifaceted peace-building activist and educator with extensive experience in early childhood education and post-conflict reconciliation. He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.
As the founder of Life School Rwanda, Eddy has established a community school that caters to over 300 vulnerable children, refugees, and those from poor families. The school provides meals, educational materials, and a nurturing environment based on a hybrid model incorporating Pikler Pedagogy and American best practices.
Eddy is also the founder of Impacta Children Africa, an activist organization working within the region and beyond. His commitment to peace-building is evident in his involvement with the Gacaca courts system in Rwanda and his work as an independent researcher at the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission.
His expertise in early childhood education and conflict resolution has led him to give public lectures at prestigious institutions worldwide, including Auckland University and Otago University in New Zealand, Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, the Pikler Institute in Los Angeles, USA, and Macau University.
Eddy's research portfolio includes studies on South Sudan's power struggles and ethnic cleansing, early intervention in refugee camps (focusing on Burundian refugees in Rwanda), and post-conflict management. He has also assessed the progress of Rwanda's reconciliation efforts following the genocide against the Tutsi.
Eddy completed an intensive three-month Pikler training for infant and toddler care at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California, in July 2019, as a testament to his dedication to early childhood education.
